This is the story of Tamara Woods, a horse trainer for a successful stable in Malibu, California. Tamara is a Christian, and she is fun-loving and accepting of everyone. She's not only a talented horse trainer, but she is a "horse whisperer" as well: a person who has a special way with troubled animals. Blake Jefferson is a world-renown show rider, who jumps his horses at the Grand Prix level. He lost his wife in a plane crash, and has blamed God ever since. He tells people he doesn't even believe in God, but if that were true, he wouldn't still be feeling so much pain and resentment. After the loss of his wife, Blake withdrew from his family and friends. Instead, he threw himself into riding, and began to see it more as work than fun. Even the horses have become just a means to an end for Blake. His prize stallion, Rock, has been faltering at the shows, so although he is skeptical, Blake brings the horse to Tamara. There is an instant attraction between the man and woman, but Blake is all wrong for Tamara. Or so it seems.

Testimonials & Reviews:
"This book is a must for horse lovers who crave equestrian fiction. Although the book is 'inspirational' you don't have to be religious to enjoy it. I could relate to the characters, and will tell you - Wilson really knows her horses." (Carrin Adams - Editor of Hunters & Jumpers Online)
"As a romance author and avid reader, I highly recommend THE DANCE to anyone looking for a good, satisfying love story." (Nancy Bacon - Author of Love & Dreams, Bayou Lady, and many more)
"Staci Layne Wilson creates an incredible warmth within her characters for her debut romance novel THE DANCE. Read it and enjoy the glow!" (Suzanne Coleburn - The Belles and Beaux of Romance)
"I am really thrilled with the way inspirational romances are being written these days and this one is no exception. It gets the message across subtly without turning the reader off that it is an inspirational. This was a sweet story about how love conquers all. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more stories from Staci Layne Wilson." (Kathy Boswell - Kathy's Faves & Raves)
"THE DANCE is not your run of the mill inspirational romance. Its high points are centered around (the heroine's) dealings with the horses and her tremendous faith. Go for it - read THE DANCE! Three Stars." (Rita Hestand - Romance-Central.Com)
"No, there's no high-flying horse-fixing crime ring to bust or murdered bookies to solve in THE DANCE. It's a simple, utterly charming tale of people falling in love and overcoming the obstacles in the way of the happy ever after. Best of all, the heroine doesn't grate - she's not one of those chirpy, irritatingly perky and guileless Pollyannas. Instead, she is a wonderfully kind and generous soul who clearly deserves her happy ending." (Mrs. Giggles - Everything Romantic)
"THE DANCE is a good book with memorable characters in Tami and Blake. I loved the horse, too!" (Hattie Boyd - WCRG Romance Review on AOL.COM)
