Horses By E-Mail

fiction

Review: Ah, the days when I was a young, horse-crazed girl, devouring books like "Horses by E-Mail". This book really took me back. Great fuel to feed the minds and dreams of young girls everywhere to enter the incredible world of horses! Staci really knows the ups and downs of the special connections of young riders and their mounts. You won't be disappointed.

The Dance

fiction

Review: Wilson provides not only a lushly detailed background and engaging sub-plots, but she has a standout talent for characterization. Her characters are not cardboard cutouts by any means; they are warm and human and likeable. She creates people you want to get to know better. The Dance is great summer reading, romantic and sweet, with a down to earth heroine who is very appealing. Find yourself a comfortable chair and curl up with this book. Five stars. Horses and Their Women
True Stories

Edited By Barbara Cohen and Louise Taylor

Overview: True tales of horses and their women, ranging from sad, to joyous, to awe-inspiring. Fully illustrated with black and white photos. My story, Smokey Jett Jr., is about the loss of my beloved friend, an Icelandic gelding who was my "brother" from the time I was six years old, and into my adulthood. Though sad, the story is a celebration of his life.

10,0001 Names for Horses

Edited By Barbara Mannis and Catherine Lewis

Overview: Handy-dandy little book of horse names. While it's no great literary feat, I did submit some names. My photo of Peregrino, my Paso Fino gelding, appears on page 132.

The Horse's Choice

Natural, Low-key and Easy Training You Can Do Yourself

Sorry, All Sold Out!

Overview: Whether you are brand new to the world of horses or an old hand, The Horse's Choice is a valuable addition to your library because unlike most traditional training books, The Horse's Choice not only shows you everything from the horse's viewpoint, but how to deal with the problems from a human standpoint.

Using personal anecdotes and stories about my own horses, I tell you in a fun, easy-to-understand way how to: acclimate a new horse into your stable; teach your horse to longe; figure out which bit to use; catch your horse in the field; get your horse to stand still while mounting; keep your horse from bolting; walk home at an easy pace; and much more.
