The Evolution of StaciWilson.com

StaciWilson.com has undergone many incarnations since it went up in the mid-90s. At first, I used it to advertise my horse-training business and to showcase my articles in equine and feline magazines.

When my first two books, The Horse's Choice, and Horrors of the Holy, were published in 2000, it was the perfect forum to let the world know I was a published author.

I've always loved movies and the horror genre, so I began reviewing films and books for Cinescape magazine in 2000. I dutifully added links to my reviews from this site.

I started covering red carpet premieres and doing TV junkets in 2001 (Final Fantasy, starring Donald Sutherland, was the first one I did). At the time, I was working for WENN and Fantastica Daily.

Since it was new and exciting, I faithfully mirrored every single event I covered: adding celebrity photos, videos, and text commentary. I also added all my movie reviews, interviews, set visit reports, and so on, even though they were already on the websites I was working for.

Now, in mid-2006, I have several professional outlets, including TV-Wire, About.com, and SciFi.com to name a few.

I noticed that my website's pages numbered in the thousands, and I don't even want to tell you how much bandwidth I was using. Add to that all the MySpace and Live Journal leeches who were linking to celebrity images on my website, and the StaciWilson.com I created had become a monster!

So, here is the pared-down, leaner and meaner version. I hope you enjoy it.
