Premiere
Coverage

The World
Premiere for the latest Stephen King book to movie adaptation DREAMCATCHER
took place in Westwood, CA, at the Mann Village on March 19, 2003. The
cast includes Morgan Freeman, Jason Lee, Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlberg
and Timothy Olyphant, all of whom were on hand to chat with the press.
(Stars Tom Sizemore and Thomas Jane and screenwriter William Goldman were
there too, but sadly, I missed them. Check out the junket interviews
instead.)

| Timothy
Olyphant, who plays beer-swilling, psychic Pete in the movie. I must
admit, I haven't seen much of Tim's previous film work, but he sure
seems like a fun person. |

| Jason
Lee, who plays one of my favorite characters in Dreamcatcher, "Beaver",
a guy who loves toothpicks enough to risk his life for them. Like
he says, "It's a real fuckarow!" He's pictured here with
his lovely date, Beth Riesgraf. |

| My
literary hero, the incomparable Mr. Stephen King. It was pleasant
surprise to learn that he'd be attending the premiere, and even more
pleasant to get the chance to talk to him. See the toothpick in homage
to the Beaver character? Too cool! Also, I like his new glasses. |

| The
ever-cool, nattily dressed Mr. Morgan Freeman. One of my favorite
actors of all time. He loves to play games with the reporters
at the press junket, he said
that inspiration for his Col. Curtis character came from Dr. Strangelove...
on the press line, he said not so! |

|
Director,
Lawrence Kasdan. Kasdan, I thought, did a great job of bringing
a very difficult, multi-faceted, genre-bending novel to the big
screen. Dreamcatcher won't be winning the Best Picture Oscar next
year, but it's fun! If you like wild, full-on horror action,
you won't be disappointed.
|

| Damian
Lewis, who plays both Jonesy (a human) and Mr. Grey (an alien residing
in Jonesy's body). Not an easy role, having to exchange dialog with
oneself, but he carries it off well. |

| Donnie
Wahlberg, who plays the most pivotal character in the movie, "Duddits"
the living dreamcatcher. I haven't seen all of Wahlberg's movies,
but this could be his best performance to date. |

| Me,
signing off after a long night, ready to visit the sandman. |

| I
didn't have the presence of mind to move my hair out of the way for
the above pics, but I am wearing my dreamcatcher earrings :) |
