Shamus (1973, action and mystery)
Burt Reynolds plays Shamus, a Chandleresque P.I. who sleeps on his pool table, fights using a wicked chain, and has a finicky red tabby cat. Make that the ultimate finicky feline: he is played by the second Morris, famous for his long-running Nine Lives cat food commercials. His agent, William Morris The Cat, was no doubt instrumental in getting him the film gig. In this movie, Cat, as he's named, pussyfoots around Shamus's bathtub and comes between a kiss his master shares with co-star Dyan Cannon.
