Nightmares (1983, horror and thriller)

Nightmares, the so-called "sleeper of the year" is a quadrille of terror-tales, one of which is called Night of the Rat. Richard Masur and Veronica Cartwright play the parents of Bridgette Anderson, a little girl who loves her kitty-cat, Rosie. When Rosie goes missing and the walls buckle to accommodate the passage of a massive rat, the horror begins.
