Kiki's Delivery Service (1989, animated and fantasy)
Kiki (voiced by Kirsten Dunst) is a young witch who, as part of her rite of passage, has to be self-supporting for a year in the mortal realm, so she starts a courier service with the help of her trusty familiar, a black cat (who sometimes pretends he's a toy) called Jiji (voiced by Phil Hartman). The cat is teeny-tiny, big-eyed, long-tailed, and just plain adorable. There is also a Japanese version of this film, using the same animé but with different actors and different dialogue.
