Walter Hudd plays an evil white master lording over several Indian servants in Colonial India, who gets more than he bargained for in a spirited young mahout named Toomai (Sabu), who has a knack for relating to elephants. Toomai is especially bonded with one called Kala Nag, who has been his only friend since the adolescent's father's untimely death.
