American Tail, An (1986, animated and adventure)
When the Mousekewitz family decides to make the voyage from Russia to what they believe is a cat-free America , their little son Fievel (voiced by Phillip Glasser) goes overboard along the way. Luckily, mice can swim like fish. When Fievel arrives alone in the New World, the plucky brown rodent keeps the faith and looks for his family but his search is sidetracked when he falls prey to the slimy Warren T. Rat ( voiced by John Finnegan), who sells the naive immigrant into slavery. A big screen sequel featuring the voice talents of comic genius John Cleese , American Tail: Fievel Goes West , followed in 1991. Two direct-to-video American Tail movies, The Mystery of the Night Monster (1999) and The Treasure of Manhattan Island (2000) were also made.
