Alien (1979, science fiction and horror)
This horror film set in space, notable for showcasing Sigourney Weaver as the hero Ripley in her first starring role, has a memorable feline named Jones in it. Jones is the only crew member smart enough to steer clear of the creepy, chest-bursting alien, and he is so darn cute and loveable that Ripley, an obvious ailurophile, repeatedly risks her own life to save him. While Weaver got her "Ripley Effect" start here, it was bad mews for the Jones cat who was completely uncredited.
